Our story

A Columbus diner since 1952

Since 1952 the names over the door have changed. The diner hasn’t: eggs on the flattop, coffee in the pot, and regulars who know each other by name.

Everybody eats here: first responders, construction crews, plumbers, retirees, Bible study groups, and families with little ones in tow.

  1. 1952

    It starts on Seventh Street

Gerald I. Davis, a Marine and World War II veteran, opens his grill at 421 Seventh Street, downtown.

  2. 1972

    Bennie and Carolyn

After twenty years Davis sells to Bennie and Carolyn Stott, and the counter keeps going.

  3. 2004

    Sadie’s, then Kramer’s

Sadie Cress takes over, followed by Joe and Debbie Kramer. New names over the door, same little diner.

  4. 2008

    It becomes Jill’s

Jill buys the diner in February 2008. It has been a family place ever since.

  5. 2025

A new home on National Road

After 73 years downtown, the diner packs up and reopens at 3005 N. National Road. Same diner, new address.
